Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PropulsoIQ collects, uses, protects and handles personal data in connection with its website, pilot access requests, evaluation builds and marine engineering software services.
1. Introduction
PropulsoIQ (“PropulsoIQ”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides marine engineering software for vessel engine and hull performance analysis, with a focus on two-stroke main engine diagnostics, shop test comparison, performance deviation detection, technical reporting and fault investigation support.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we may collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how we protect it, and what rights individuals may have in relation to their personal data.
PropulsoIQ is designed primarily for professional maritime users, including Chief Engineers, Technical Superintendents, Fleet Managers, vessel operators, ship managers and shipping companies. The platform processes engineering and operational vessel data for diagnostic and analytical purposes. In most cases, the core technical data processed by PropulsoIQ relates to vessels, engines, machinery, performance trends, operating conditions and diagnostic cases — not to individual crew members.
We are committed to protecting personal data and handling it in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.
2. Who This Policy Applies To

5. Vessel Data and Engineering Diagnostics
PropulsoIQ is designed to process engineering data for performance analysis and diagnostic support.
The platform may identify abnormal trends, compare actual engine values against reference values, rank probable causes and suggest recommended checks. These results are based on technical data, engineering logic, user input, historical cases and diagnostic rules.
PropulsoIQ does not replace professional engineering judgment, class requirements, manufacturer instructions, company procedures or statutory obligations. Final operational, safety, maintenance and repair decisions must be made by qualified personnel.
Where vessel data is used to improve diagnostic models, calculations, software features or future analytical capabilities, we aim to use aggregated, anonymized or pseudonymized data wherever possible.
6. Offline-First and Local Deployment
PropulsoIQ may be deployed as an offline-first or locally installed evaluation build, allowing users to perform diagnostic analysis without continuous internet access.
Depending on the deployment model, some data may remain locally on the user’s device, vessel laptop or company-controlled infrastructure. In such cases, PropulsoIQ may have limited or no access to operational vessel data unless the user or customer chooses to share it for support, diagnostics, reporting, pilot evaluation or product improvement.
Where cloud, synchronization, remote support or shore-side analytics features are enabled, data processing will depend on the specific configuration agreed with the customer.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Typical retention periods may include:
- account data retained while the user account remains active;
- audit logs retained for security, compliance and traceability purposes;
- support communications retained for customer service and quality control;
- pilot access data retained during the evaluation period and for a reasonable period afterwards;
- business contact data retained while there is an active business relationship or legitimate business interest.
Upon termination of a customer relationship or pilot program, personal data may be deleted, anonymized or retained only where required for legal, contractual, dispute resolution, audit or security purposes.
Technical vessel data may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form for product improvement, engineering validation, benchmarking and diagnostic model development. Once properly anonymized, such data is no longer considered personal data.

- a data controller for its own business contacts, website enquiries, pilot access requests and platform administration; or
- a data processor when processing data on behalf of a customer under that customer’s instructions.
Where a customer organization determines what data is uploaded, who receives access, how long data is retained and how the platform is used internally, that customer may be the data controller for such data.
In such cases, individuals should contact their employer or the relevant customer organization for requests relating to internal account access, vessel data, reports or records controlled by that organization.
